Why and when did you begin writing?
As far as I can remember, I’ve always loved writing and I’ve always been good at it. Every time we had to write essays, or whatever else at school… I aced it. Fiction writing is, by far, what I like best. I love creating characters, and then seeing them evolve and interact with each other. This is truly what drives me to write.
What inspired you to write your book?
The characters, really. I’ve been wanting to writing a novel for quite some time, and before thinking of a plot, before figuring out when and where the story would take place, I created the main characters. I knew I wanted a female heroine, knew she’d have qualities and flaws, and then I created an accomplice who would stand by her side. Neve & Egan were born, and then I crafted a story around them.
Do you have any other books planned in the future?
Yes, Russian Dolls is the first instalment in my detective series ‘The Neve & Egan cases’. The second instalment, Ruby Heart, will be released before the end of 2013. I’m working on it right now, and it’s progressing nicely.
What are your ten most favorite things?
Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, chocolate truffle, chocolate praline, … you get the picture.
What book are you reading right now?
Book #13 of the ‘Dresden Files’, Ghost Story, by Jim Butcher, which I’m devouring. And I’ve started Stephenie Meyer’s The Host, which I’m, so far, finding agonizingly slow.
Tell us a random fact about you that we never would have guessed.
I’ve studied stage-acting for seven years, when I was younger.
